Check for hairline cracks when you pull the pumps. One of mine developed a leak from a hairline crack after 150,000+ miles of heat cycles. I’m at 170,000 now. Trying to find the pics right now...
From memory, you couldn’t see the crack from the bottom. I had everything dropped for RBs and it was easy to replace both pumps.
Has anyone had major leakage? I'm getting ready for a 2k mi road trip this month and trying to decide if I should replace my pump that leaks a drop a day with a used one or deal with it later.
I had quite large leak from the oil pump. First it was minor but it got worse pretty soon. I had to drive it around 1k miles before i got the new pump. I ordered new one from dealer but it was back ordered. After two weeks i cancelled the order and bought used one, because it was out of stock everywhere. In three weeks i lost 2 liters of oil... If you have time before your trip, i recommend that you change the pump to used one if you don't want to buy new one.
