What seemed like a clean stock Carbon Black e39 M5 in Pasadena in the parking lot of Petco, Turners, and Urgent Care on Arroyo Parkway. Had to do some holiday shopping and noticed it parked in the lot.

Ok there is an M5 that is always parked near CVS in Westport CT I believe you also have a 4.8l x5. I also see a silver M5 coming down weston road I assume you are on your way to work most days. Respond if it's you either one.
Ha! Yes, I have the e39 M5 near CVS in Westport. I've been undertaking the 100K refresh during WFH - lowering suspension, shirt shifter, exhaust, leather etc, etc.

Titanium E39 M5 parked on Hudson St., West Village, NYC Sunday night 9:30 PM. Looked pretty clean from 20 feet. Not a place where you expect to see one of these.
That was me, me favorite place in NYC, around the corner of Washington Square Park

Spotted @ around 5PM yesterday, 5/14: Carbon black M5, tints, maybe lowered?, traveling north on Richmond Road in Beachwood, OH. Spotted right at the intersection of the BP gas station and Tres Portillos, just down the block from Porsche Beachwood and 271.

Are you on this forum?

2001+ Silverstone w/ black interior, North Carolina rear plate, & a replica german temp tag in the front (aftermarket wheels, maybe beyern mesh)

You were north bound somewhere in VA/MD, I was in the very similar 2001 Silverstone M5 (y)

Hi there! I have a 2000 M5 in the rare AVUS blue color and I’m trying to find out the production number and how many were brought into the US, would you by chance know how to acquire that information?
Thank you! 😊

Avus is not a rare color, it is one of the standard palette colors for pre-facelift cars and it was available on all three M5 variants (DE91, DE92, & DE93):

I'm not sure where some people are finding the product stats these days, but there are small pieces floating around:

Based on the above, the truly rare cars are Individual optioned cars.
