Dinan Stroker In Action

All,

Based on the results from Saturday I knew there was something wrong with my Dinan Stroker M5.

My dealer figured out they installed a stock intake component during the motor swap rather than the upgraded Dinan intake component for the MAF.

Based on that change we ran some comparisons this evening against a known fast stock M5 (with charcoal filters removed). See for yourself:

Enjoy,

Darren

Thanks for the video. The results are more likely expected. What surprise me is the intake make that much different from the previous video. Now, I want to see the rematch agains HPF M3, 997TT, Ford GT. Is that ///WALL ST M5?

Keep us posted and congrats once again.

Me and the HPF M3 (aka RaceMX-M3) already ran earlier today we just didn't have a camera with us. The results were much better, although the M3 beat me he was only 4-5 car lengths in front of me versus bus lengths last time.

We'll get some vids asap between us for comparison so everyone can see.

He's running away.........definitely big performance gain!

Looks and sounds awesome. Now that the intake component was fixed, how is the seat of the pants difference? Very anxious to see vids of your next meet. Congrats again.

Congratulations on your car... very impressive!!!

Were you able to set something up with the SL65? I would be very curious to see those cars matched up...although I would think that you have the advantage from a roll and should beat it now that the MAF is sorted out. I think a tuned 65 would be a better challenge.

Good luck!!!

Tom

I agree with you Tom. I'm looking forward to the rematch.

My friend with the SL65 should be up for a comparison today or tomorrow. I'll ask him...he's usually very accommodating.

The 997TT is in the shop to fix an over rev'ing situation created by shifting from 3rd -> 2nd (instead of 3rd -> 4th as intended). Once he has his car back we'll do a comparison again.

Regards,

Darren

Hey darren from your video your m5 is stupid fast. However what intake componet did they put in that made that much of a diffrence. did they do that intentional to keep you from racing lol. How the seat of the pants feel now that they fixed it

Wow...I could not imagine MAF would have such a big impact in performance!

....geez guys, it's a joke...hiha

ha ha darren very funny i nearly fell off my chair but seriously what did they change that made a drasitc improvement

My apologies, I thought I posted that actual change but it looks like I'm going senile myself and didn't.

They changed out parts related to the Dinan intake system which house the MAF sensor and connect it to the air intake plenum on top of the block.

Obviously some serious engineering on Dinan's part to determine how much airflow the 5.7L engine needs to properly breathe. Made a substantial difference! Way to go team Dinan!

D#MN that thing is fast! Congrats Darren!

So a few requests if you don't mind:

1) Comparison runs with a modified M5; preferrably one with headers.
2) Some dyno numbers
3) How about before and after dynos with the RPI Scoops? I'm really curious if the scoops will work well with the Dinan intake. Maybe someone in the Dallas area can lend you theirs?

Congrats again on such an awesome car. BTW, are those the HRE Monobloks?
