Use diff. as a jack point?

I'd like to lift the beast with two jacks, one in the front, and one in the rear. Once the car is elevated, jack stands positioned on the four rubber pads under the rocker panel would be used to support the car.

After some Searching, most use the four rubber pads under the rocker panel as jack points. I was hoping for a faster way to get the car up. There appears to be a 5" round lift point in the front under the engine area, and some have suggested using the differential for the rear jack point. But others have cautioned against using the diff. as a jacking point.

Does anyone have a solution to lifting their beast quickly, using 2-jacks?

The usual twist...

I follow greg's instructions for the front of the car.

However, I often jack the rear using the differential, and use the hard rubber jack pads (lifting points) beneath the rocker panels for my rear set of jack stands.

If I hear compelling evidence for not using the differential as a jacking point, I suppose I might follow them (greg's instructions) start to end!
