Well I facing a small dilemma. Which wheel looks better on a BMW E39 M5? The style 65 wheel or a BBS LM Wheels? Chimein love to here from members as to what looks best.

IMHO if you're staying with 18s the style 65 are the way to go. I have a matte black set of style 65 in boxes waiting to be installed. The Beyern Bavaria set I currently have were a temporary holdover until I moved some of the black style 65. I've had multiple sets of these powder coated over the last year and I really like the matte black on LMB. If you're moving to 19s then the authentic BBS LM are one of the best looking wheels on our cars. My personal issue with the LM wheels is the look is almost as common as the style 65 because of the availability of inexpensive reps. I'm not knocking the use of reps at all, I have some factory style reps on my Lightning. It's just allowed the LM look to be more widespread on our cars. Another option to consider that look very nice on the e39 M5 is the Volk Racing T-37. There are a few fellas running these and they look very sharp. Even the bronze option looks pretty good on the e39. I'm not sure if they require a lug stud conversion or if they will allow the use of the stock lug bolts. I've yet to the rotary forged Beyern Spartan on an e39, but I like the look of the beefier spoke on their version of that style of wheels. You can use factory lug bolts on the Beyern wheels. :M5launch:

I face a similar conundrum to you. Allow me to be the voice of slight dissent. If you want 19", then BBS LMs. However, if you want 18", I would suggest BBS RG-Rs.

As of right now, I'm strongly leaning towards running a squared setup of the BBS RG-Rs in 18x10 with the Diamond Black finish as in those 2 pictures. For a few reasons: they are much lighter than the LMs and more importantly (for me) they are lighter than stock, they will let me run 35 series rubber rather than 30 series (I personally like as much rubber as possibly between the wheel and the road), I feel like they are less common than the LMs, and as a nice bonus they are far less expensive than the LMs.

However that being said, I came across this picture and as an Alpine White owner I couldn't contain the drool.

The only difference I would do is run them square with 19x10 all-around (if possible), and to get them in Diamond Black with the red center caps.

Ugh, I'M SO TORN! ouich

Yeah everytime I see the BBS LM on an M I am taken. I have the LMs in the attic as well as a new set of style 65's

I agree with everyone else in the fact that if you want 18 inch wheels, go with the Style 65. 19 inch wheels definitely go with the LM's. But you also have to know what you have, or have planned for your suspension. If you are, and plan to stay at stock ride height, go with the Style 65s. Aftermarket wheels look horrible (IMO) without lowered suspension.

There are fewer wheels better than style 65 on the E39 M than there are continents, BBS LM is one of them!

18s vs 19s of the same weight and tire (and 18s are easier to get lighter), 18's ride better, handle better, accelerate better, brake better, and are cheaper. IMO, they look better as well-- purposeful instead of stylized, which is the character of the entire car. So, I can't see going 19s.

I'm running the stock style 65s for snows, and 18" BBS RG-Rs for summer (light and strong). I'm running silver, but if I had a lightly colored car I'd be running BBS's diamond black (which isn't black at all). OG could pull off either color, imo.

What I like best about them is that they don't look overly aftermarkety:

The LM's are better matched to older body style cars, IMO-- they look AWESOME on e30s/e28s, but the e39/e46 is too rounded for them. Plus, they're heavy (though they are STRONG).

x2. I agree 100%, and I'm almost set now on getting a square setup of the 18x10 RG-Rs with the Diamond Black finish because I think it'll look so good.

I REALLY hope I can run them with 275/35, and will be getting the Ground Control setup with their modified front struts for fat tires. What wheel/tire setup are you running Obioban? In the picture it looks like 18x10 all-around.
