so.... was thinking maybe I should get slicks for my car.... anyone know if there are such things as 19" slicks? :p

There are some 19" slicks for European Touring car series, but they are too narrow and won't work with a heavy M5. Here's whats available that could work for the M5 in 18" sizes.

Streetable Track Tires
Toyo RA-1, Toyo R1R
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup

Track Only R Compounds
Kumho ECSTA V700
Hoosier

"Real Slicks" for Track ONLY! Too Fragile for the street.
Dunlop
Pirelli
Yokohama
AVON

Info on these can be found at
Bob Woodman Tires
Sasco Motorsports
Roger Kraus Racing

thanks for the tips... well, my car won't be street legal in Hong Kong anyways... so doesn't really matter if I run slicks or R compound....
from what I read online.. 19" ones of either are pretty rare....

TFung,

There is chance that Michelin will be releasing their Pilot Sport Cup R-compound tires in 19" soon. Since it is OEM equipment on the upcoming M3 CSL, I would imagine that they will available through certain Michelin dealers. I am betting that they will be special order only, and probably cost an arm and a leg as well.

Otherwise, you are stuck with only 18" tires.
