Oil Evaporates ? Bad viscosity due to miles ?

I added a quart when it was 0.2L, and a quick check showed 1.2L last month. On the last 1 quart, it showed me running under 700 miles on that quart, which made me a bit anxious about this thing.

The electronic readings are not always super accurate, and there are cases when it can be wrong.

After adding a quart now, it displayed 1.2L. I have run around 519 miles, and its always less than 20 miles per drive, so it never got a chance to recompute and update the display. A quick check earlier had shown 1.1L and it was stuck there. I did a quick check yesterday, and it shows 1.0L now, after 519 miles.

SO i have to assume the previous consumption readings were off.

Of course, or how Blackstone test for fuel dilution in your oil sample. I wouldn't really say lower viscosity oil since this can be understood in a wrong way but degraded oil quality will burn faster and with higher mileage engine blow by increase the oil consumption and pump it over the PCV system and percentage of it vanished. Oil squirters on the S65 and S85 spray oil directly on the pistons which its temperature rated at 250°-300° C, Castrol 10W60 Edge flash point is around 200 C° .
There are a lot more higher level into this sophistication.

Your oil consumption depends on many factor including the distance you covered heat and rpm used so it can't be always the same, just like fuel consumption you can empty the tank in 400km or 200 km. Don't watch your oil level constantly, just leave it doing its thing and fill when it requires, these type of sensor that its value is displayed based on processor calculation and characteristics tables are hard to understand unless you decipher the DME.

Crazy Update: I had covered about 890 miles and oil level was still showing 1.0L (I reset odometer when I add a quart and oil shows +1.2L ). I was driving short distances for a long time and decided to do a quick check. When I ran the quick check, it showed 0.9, I ran it again and it dropped to 0.8, I ran it once more and it dropped to 0.7 lol. Stumped, I tried one more time and it dropped to 0.6. All this in about 3-4 mins standing in the same place. I was afraid to run it again, thinking it’s gonna go to 0.
I reset it and went for a long drive, and in 20 miles, it recomputed and showed 0.6L.

since then it’s showing 0.6L still, after nearly a week of driving. The oil mystery continues…to be continued 😂

I had an engine rebuilt and oil usage was horrible, worse than when mine was in there with high km, it was another block

It got rebuilt again and they torque plate and honed the block by alusil expert or whatever and now hardly any oil usage.
I was using 1L per 500km prior, now 1L every 3-5K KM

And i tried pcv valve replacements etc
