I cleaned the inside of my car today pretty thoroughly. I noticed that some of the leather dye seems to come off on a towel. Is this normal? It is a small amount but given that it is black it is a little unnerving. Thanks.

I don't know it is the dye. It isn't any lighter. But it isn't dirt--happens on many places and I've been extremely careful. It isn't like a lot is coming off, so I'm wondering if it is oils. But I don't exactly want to get in with a nice suit until I know. I'd also like to know my really expensive new dream car isn't made with defective leather.
Since the car is just new, all I used was a dramp cloth. I haven't put anything on it. I got a thing of Lexol preservative, which I will put on soon. But I want to make sure things are okay first.
It's fine. My prior M5 had Portland Brown interior and when I would clean the seats with warm water I would get some of the brown, mixed with dirt, on the wipe I used.
I am always cleaning the blue from my jeans off my Platinum interior with zaino leather cleaner every 3-4 days. The interior is a lot of maintenance, so was my last one with Silverstone II though.
Michael_s: And you never had trouble with that getting on your clothes? I called me sales associate, who said he had had a similar thing on one of his cars but thought it was either dirt or something he had treated the leather with. He had nothing else to say.
Thanks
