have owned an 83 Alpina B2.8 for about 6 months. have been running on leaded petrol since I bought it, which is what the prior owner did. I understand the B2.8 is the Alpina handling package, exhaust, cam, and some styling, but otherwise is the stock engine.

has anyone got experience with running the engine on unleaded petrol? I have been told the 1983 5 series engine has hardened valves which can take the extra strain of unleaded petrol, but if that's bad advice it's an expensive mistake to make . . .
