He was on his meds when he wrote that. Informative and not to Omnipotent.

But God forbid if were to question his "wisdom" and or ask for clarification. He will begin by calling you names and missing the point of the conversation. He expectes you to have a fully enclosed enviromentally controlled Dyno to be qualified to take a different point of view.

So beware of JC. He has some good points but is just waiting to fight with you about anything that is not HIS way.

Just MY .02 worth

Does this mean he is wrong about the damage that K&N filters do to street engines over a long period of time? As far as I know, Conforti and some trucking company are the only two people who have independently tested these filters vs. stock filters. Here is the results of the test:

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Not saying he is wrong OR right. He is just hard to deal with and have a productive conversation with.

The whole K&N vs. Others filter has been discussed many times. It is hard to believe (call me nieve) that a company as big as K&N with ties to so much racing would be producing such a "defective" product. Know what I mean? I am sure the foam filters are fine and work like a champ but I have never had an issue with K&N over the many years of use.

So whether you are pro or con JC just beware of conversing with him if you don't totally agree with him. That is all.

I understand what you are saying about conversing with JC. He is an arrogant fellow who doesn't like conversing with people whom he thinks are not qualified on the subject, right?

But what I want to know is if that test he conducted is flawed, whether in theory or in real world? Will you please read the link, Tim?

I am not familiar with Jim Comforti other than to have heard of Comforti Chips. After reading his diatribe I know I wouldn't do business with him because guys like that can always find 100 ways that it is the customer's fault when their products don't perform as promised. Comes across as an arrogant a**.

Jim Conforti IS the REAL DEAL.

His expertise has been invaluable to me for my race car. This guy knows the Motronic Box...incredibly well.

I am fortutanate, to have a BSEE and some experience using embedded microprocessor systems...If I did not have this background, everything he told me would not make any sense at all.

In the U.S. Jim C. and Dinan are the only guys I'd trust to tune my car. Just go ask QuadExhaust what its like to have your car as the "TestMule" or the "alpha" unit.

Some of you complain about the high cost of Dinan's engine program....well...look...the dude bought an M5 and spent 2 YEARS developing it. Engineers don't come cheap!

The headers are expensive at $8,000, but not really out of line.

The shop that takes care of my care recently built a set of headers for a vintage NASCAR...the bill was $5,000 and it took a fabricator nearly an entire week (billed at $60/hr)....the tubing is expensive too.

There is a reason why a Porsche 996 TT costs over $40,000 more than a regular 996 C4. Yet nobody seems to ***** about the price delta. The incremental hardware costs I'm sure don't even come close to $40,000, but all the addtional R&D work Porsche must do including testing in Finland in the cold, Death Valley when its hot, plus warranty reserves, etc....have to be recuperated in the price.

My dealings and experiences with Jim C have always been pleasurable. His knowledge is extensive. To say that you would not do business with him or use his products because of something you have read is a bit presumptuous in my opinion. I HAVE used his software and been satisfied. I guess to be truly loved by all, though, you have to come out with something for every BMW, even if it does not offer any gains except to the wallet of the company selling it.

I had his "shark injector" and intake on my M3. I was not extremely impressed but my expectations might have been too high.

I have not had any personal conversations with JC but have listened to him on many M3 boards and he does take quite an arrogant approach to any challenges. Mostly people are just trying to understand the things that he is saying and he takes offense to it.

I think he is a reputable tuner and I wouldnt hesitate buying his products. In fact I wish he did some M5 tuning because he tends to be a bit more aggressive than Dinan. I am just saying that his P.R. skills could use a little brushing up. ;)

Actually he was quite profesional and patient with the challenges in that post. Looks like he may have changed his ways.

I am definitely more impressed with him after reading that post.
