Hello my fellow M5 gurus,

Well its getting close to that time of possibly moving into an M5 from my 530. As many of you know; the 08s can come with a heated steering wheel. I am curious to know whether it would be possible to retrofit/install an 08 models heated wheel to an 07. Its a huge option for me and I would really not want to drive a car in this country without it.

Thanks

Joe

I asked the same question of my SA and he said no. Now not all SAa are the brightest bulbs, but this guy has a very good track record and has proven to be very knowledgeable, so I think he is probably correct. It is more than just the wheel as the switch mechanism would need to be wired and installed. Now, of course, for enough money anything can be done.

Sucks... thanks.

True the leather is different. I like the non-heated steering wheel leather for the '08 models. I have the heated option and the leather does not feel as comfortable.

Actually I noticed that my car has a heated steering wheel the other day, I didn't even know you could get a heated steering wheel in the M5. To bad I well never use it, the Beast rest for the cold and snowy months.
