The driver for the USB serial cable was already installed before I began Mike's Easy BMW Tools setup. I plugging in the cable, set to COM1. All software is installed on desktop, then when I launch INPA it throws an error before it can boot up saying...

"program can't start because api32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I'm guessing OS's running off an SSD is an impossibility? This only works with Windows 7 or higher running an HDD?

It's supposed to work on any Windows 8.1 64bit and higher including Windows 10 with a HDD.

SSD users have reported issues, i don't have a SSD equipped laptop so i didn't have a chance to verify or dispute. You can try on a laptop with HDD and see if it gives you the same result

I uninstalled then reinstalled but I'm continuing to receive the same driver error during installation then a separate error when trying to load INPA from desktop icon. All hope is lost.
Run in Windows XP compability mode.

Yeah I've ran those before on DIS, but i thought Rheingold (ISTAP\ISTAD) has the same options?
oh I see, INSTAD replaces DIS. I'd like to try that instead then. Can you please upload that?
I have been using ISTA-D for a few years, but was not able to find there some of the test, like Vanos test for example.

The collective wisdom on the fora I was/am registered is that DIS is a better tool for our car, but I never successfully managed to downgrade to DIS.

I had a few attempts, at some point even was able to read few errors with DIS, but nothing consistent.

At this point I get error 200.159 on my DIS installation, but NCS Expert, ISTA-D, ISTA-P are running fine however on the same laptop with the same cable (SSD by the way).

I do get some error in INPA now, but when DIS worked on my laptop, INPA did too and it was on the same SSD by the way.

Anyone have DIS and ISTA-P running on the same laptop? Or, alternatively, can you run Vanos test from ISTA-D (or trigger aux fan for example)?

I know that the VANOS test is buried somewhere in Ista\D.

I don't have INPA and DIS running on the same laptop so i can't answer the previous questions.

Hi, all. I hail from e30 land and am new to the forum.

I am trying to get this package to do adaptations on a MINI r50. Does this include or must I do extra?
Thank you for your work.
I do not know if the SPDATEN included has the MINI r50.
I'll have to check and get back with you.

It doesn't have the Mini profiles in INPA
That can be easily edited to be displayed,

But the problem is this package doesn't have the SPDATEN for the Mini vehicles.

You're gonna have to source these first.

IMO if i were you i'd look into MINI forums for these.

sorry to bother, but where should I place the SPDATEN for MINI? and any changes I need to do to display? thank you.
Well you have to edit INPA.ini to make it show your mini model

For example

"F7 = E83
F7_ARCHIV = SGBD_E83"

replace the E83 and SBGD_E83 with the Mini values .

and the daten goes in NCSExper\daten .

someone can correct me.

DIS would make sense to utilize, but it would never work under a 64bit windows 10 environment. The only times i've seen DIS is on dedicated laptops, very very old laptops.

ISTA-D/P is supposed to be just as useful as DIS, maybe others can chime in.

OP Updated with NCSExpert profiles.
If I may add to this - I have failed to install DIS to run on the same laptop along with ISTA/P (old 2010 thinkpad with usb 2.0 ports). I have even created a separate partition there where I have installed win XP - it seems that DIS likes Win XP better. But I have failed yet again, as during install, all the tools (Standard tools, DIS, INPA etc) have the default installation path set to C:\, while the second partition I have created, cannot be C:\ , or can it???

I have then installed DIS on a newer machine (thinkpad helix with USB 3.0 I believe). I have few issues with this install though:
The package I could find is in Russian, which I speak, but it is not so easy when they translate technical terms - I would so much better use an English version instead

Secondly, DIS works under a virtual environment and i found that physical keyboard is needed. My thinkpad helix has one 2.0 port when in tablet mode, but then i loose keyboard. If I dock keyboard, the 2.0 port is covered and I am left with 3.0 usb ports on the keyboard dock.

These are my 2 issues at the moment - maybe someone had this before and managed to overcome them.

But mainly I wrote this to confirm that USB 3.0 also seems to work with DIS (with INPA I get some sorts of errors, but then again I am not sure that those errors are due to usb 3.0)

Hi,

I am able to get INPA working, but i have having an issue where the services are in german. How do i fix this?

Also,

How can i get the Part1 2 & 3 of the ISTA-D? When i use the link from the pdf it says the owner needs to provide access.

Can anyone who as them please upload them once? I can then host them off my own server for future people if needed.

Thanks!

Hey, only the error codes, some of them, will be in german.

Anyway I am playing around with INPA 5.50 in full english on 64bit windows 10 right now, when I ensure there's no problems i'll upload it.

IS there anyone that has the ISTA-D and P packages to provide mirror? Plz :)
