So I've had my F90 M5 for almost 5 years and have only gotten my car serviced at the dealership where I bought it from (ran a great promo on prepaid maintenance when I bought it). I'm looking to add some more character to the car like Eventuri Intakes, Evolution Racewerks Downpipes, and a tune. I've been wanting to do this for some time but I am hesistant as it will void my extended warranty which is up to 6 years/100,000 mile warranty. I've also heard some horror stories of peoples engines blowing up and what not from a tune and downpipes which has kind of steered me away all these years but then again these people are trying to push the car wayyyyyyy past its limit. I feel like just saying f*ck it and doing it anyway, but I can't seem to drop the hammer on this thing. Any advice from anyone on what I should do and what their experience has been like with dealerships, the cars themselves (maintenance and reliability wise), etc after the intakes, tune, downpipes is greatly appreciated!

Things like an intake and downpipe are not going to cause any issues and a conservative tune, such as bootmod, would only maximize the effectiveness of said intake/downpipe. From what I have seen things start going bad when you start trying to mess with timing and/or fuel mixtures.

I’ve been looking into some aftermarket options for the F90 M5 too. From what I’ve seen, a good exhaust system (like Akrapovič or Remus) really wakes the car up and makes the S63 sound the way it should. Tunes from reputable shops (BM3, Evolve, etc.) also seem to make a huge difference in performance without sacrificing daily drivability. I’m curious if anyone here has first-hand experience with upgraded intakes—worth it on these cars or mostly just noise?
