Guys the time has officially to come to take my beast to another level. I was experiencing numerous problems with my SMG transmission and I didn't like the jerkiness. I am a huge fan of the E92 M3 DCT transmission because of how instant and quick the shifts are. Not to mention the less problem it causes; the DCT on those are solid reliable transmissions. BMW did a great job with the glorious NA V10 engine but did not perfect the automated transmission. I ordered the E92 M3 DCT transmission and flywheel yesterday and will start shipment next week. The shop who is going to make this amazing build is going to be Gintani. Gintani is well-known for their supercharger and twin-turbo kits they offer for M cars. At there facility, I saw an amazing build project which was a 2010 M6 with a twin-turbo kit pushing easily over 1000+ horsepower also equipped with their DCT transmission to handle perfect with the beast. My whole build is going to take roughly a month to complete and I can't wait till the parts come in! I will update you guys every time I have new updates on this build.

Doesnt it make you uneasy not seeing one working when people have wanted this for years!! Apparently there is 3 done already but no one knows about it??? I doubt anyone could keep there lips sealed that much
Gintani would have a backlog of years for dct conversions if that was the case
Its the single best mod that people would froth at the lips for!!!

I wish you luck

I have no issue or concern with Gintani about the build. These guys are great at what they do, I personally haven't driven a DCT EXX M5/M6 but know that these guys are the only one who can do what they say they can build. Until now their supercharger holds records and now they are slowly but surely finishing up with the twin-turbo kit that's going to be pushing over 1200hp easy. I haven't seen that type of build from any other company for the M5/M6. We are all impatient to see the final project completed! As far as my transmission goes; I can't wait to get it back and enjoy that smooth and instant shifts on the DCT without having the issues that SMG has.

My current setup on my smg is single mass flywheel and Kevlar clutch, I love the redline shifts but I hate the purposely delayed shifts of lower rpms, seems like BMW thought it would be a great idea for a luxury sedan but that surely backfired!! Why can't the smg shift faster in lower rpms like the Aventadors gearbox... hopefully when I get the fast Attack Motorsport tune they will make this possible, if this dct works and we have video evidence I will definetely be considering that down the line!!!

Once you get your beast back hit me up, i'd love to go for a ride and see what DCT feels like with the S85. I am actually dropping off my car at Gintani this friday for some preventive maintenance and new clutch and flywheel :)

Got a call from Gintani. They said it should be complete by the end of next week. After I will post my SMG pump and transmission up for sale on the board.
