***thru 08/01
****from 09/01

Interior Colors (Sport):
Anthracite M Alcantara/Black Nappa leather (except for U.S. models), Black Nappa Point leather/Black Nappa leather, Le Mans Blue Nappa Point leather/Black Nappa leather, Imola Red Nappa Point leather/Black Nappa Leather, Silverstone Nappa Point leather/Black Nappa leather

NOTE: All colors offered in a choice of Extended leather interior or Complete leather interior (discontinued from 09/00 in North America). Extended leather interior includes leather door pulls, door armrests, center console, center armrest and sun visors. Complete leather interior includes leather door pulls, door armrests, door panels, center console, center armrest, sun visors, dashboard, glovebox door, upper door trims and lower B-pillar, plus Alcantara (synthetic suede) on the A-pillar, upper B-pillar, C-pillar and rear parcel shelf. Interior Colors (Exclusive/Luxury):
Black Nappa Heritage leather, Caramel Nappa Heritage leather, English Green Nappa Heritage leather (thru 08/00 for U.S. models)

NOTE: All colors offered in a choice of Extended leather interior (discontinued from 9/00 in North America) or Complete leather interior. Extended leather interior includes leather door pulls, door armrests, center console, center armrest and sun visors. Complete leather interior includes leather door pulls, door armrests, door panels, center console, center armrest, sun visors, dashboard, glovebox door, upper door trims and lower B-pillar, plus Alcantara (synthetic suede) on the A-pillar, upper B-pillar, C-pillar and rear parcel shelf. Interior Trims:
Aluminum (Sport interior only), Bruyere Club Wood (Sport interior or Exclusive/Luxury interior), Burl Walnut Wood (Exclusive/Luxury interior only)

PS: I believe standard colors where the same world wide. European models could have an "individual" color which offered some quite unique ones.

I included the interior combo's for completeness (to avoid the next question) but it is a little hard to follow. In short, US models had a luxury interior (black or caramel) with extra leather, or a sport interior (black with colored inserts and std aluminum trim). 2000 models did offer more interior choices.

BTW, you will probably find Titanium Silver to be the most popular followed by Lemans Blue, Imola Red, Carbon Black, & Jet Black (not necessarily in that order). The remaining colors would be hard to find. Do a search (on any given color name) as there are tons of pics throughout the forum.

Alpine White is sweet and you don't see many of them around. This site has tons of pictures and info....just search around. You'll learn a great deal from this forum.

i didn't do it to help out[well not directly anyway] the title is pretty basic and if you where in fact looking for M5 colors that's what'd you type in "E39 M5 COLORS" so i figured this will keep someone else from putting up the exact same thread in the future...as far as the individual colors go unless you plan on importing a car from europe or asia, they aren't available in the states[i'm sure there's a couple in the country but i doubt they'll be up for sale any time soon]...all the REDs except IMOLA RED are individual making IMOLA the only one available [obviously CHIARETTO and ROYAL are reds, but not necessarily the same as IMOLA]...also some of those color where replaced by others...BLUEWATER was replaced by SILVERSTONE, ANTRACITE, was replaced by STERLING, AVUS was replaced by LE MANS, JET BLACK not neccessarily replaced, but you'll find more CARBON BLACK 01's+ than 00s[i've only seen euro models in carbon black that where 00s MYs...JET BLACK on the other hand is available in all MYs]

Aegean Blue/Champagne Edition:trophy_bronze:...though only a 540 M-Tech/Sport.

I had an opportunity to get an "individual" 528i or 540i. My dealer had gone to Germany in 1998, saw a gun metal blue 540i and spec'd a 540i and a 528i for delivery to the US market. It worked. It was a geourgeous color but I don't recall its name. Too bad I had to wait for lease end to trade my car at the time or I would have strongly considered it. I even entertained taking a loss getting out of lease and settling for the 528i. One downside would have been a body shop getting the exact paint if I ever had an accident in it. It would have looked like Antracite but with a gun metal blue tint.

A little teaser...

to get an idea what Aegean Blue looks like + some other amazing Individual colour combo's (on M3's).

See ~~> http://www.themforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282

Post #1 (from pic. #5 on) = Aegean Blue
Post #10 (last pic) = same colours as my interior
Post #11 (last pic) = my 2-tone steering wheel

"Damn", I still can't believe I found my car.
My knees go weak and my heart skipps a beat every morning I enter my garage.

in another post i did mention how the individual colors are more exotic than just flashy tuner paint...but dakar yellow looks funny/funky...
Image

-the full creme leather in the E39 looks...good
-pretty much all the purples look excellent, but MORA is still my favorite
-the BRASS METALLIC looks kinda like a SKYLINE R34 NUR
Image

-well there's an individual in the states, dunno how motivated the person might be on selling:

yeah they do, but at $600 a headlight[for euro clear corners] there's gotta be better things to spend $1200 dollars on...

...anyway my original reason for posting was this Carbon Black car I found on piston heads w/ a MUSTARD INTERIOR

Have been told that the silvery blue looks better in person.....cause from the pic...I'm indifferent to it.

Bluewater, Chiaretta Red, and Carbon Black all appear to change colors when you walk around the car. All 3 really have to be seen in person. Especially the CR, which usually gets dumped on here because it just doesn't photograph well. (This is a bad photo too...untill you zoom in on the top of the rear window)
