Hi,
I am new here and I wanted to ask something. I have heard that the M5 E34 Parallell wheels are kind of rare and worth some money. It this true?

Why is it rare?

I have the 8" från and 9" back rims, the rims are from M5 1995 sedan.

How much do they cost?

www.abdalian.se/bmw/m.jpg is a picture och the back rim and my son

The e34 wheels are only rare on the 2nd hand market - they were only ever supplied on the last two years of e34 m5 production.

They are still available from the bmw dealerships at £500 ish a wheel (in the uk).

They are different from the e39 and e38 variety of the m-parallel which are more readily available 2nd hand.

True?
Well thats relative, but yes, compared to other used wheels tehy are indeed expensive, but that varies a bit. There is a couple of sets for sale on autopower.se. I think around 7000-8000sek (770-880eur) with decent/new tyres.

Why is it rare?
Eehhhh... low number manufactured may be one reason :confused3
There wasn`t that many cars equipped with these wheels(some E38, E39 and 8-series also but different hole size for hub and fifferent off sets...)

but used wheels are always used, so its a question of in what shape they are and how bad people want them.....

I bought a set (from a E38) with bald tyres for 7000SEK (that's cheap) bought them within a couple of hours after the ad without picture came out, bought slightly used tyres for 4000SEK after shipping and mounting, drove last summer and sold them for 11000SEK, a friend of mine payed 10000SEK for a set of E38 wheels with not so good tyres, so 7000-8000SEK with good/new tyres isn't possible, the only set of E34 M-Para: s I have bought, (have them on my 1996 M-Sport pack 540i/6) payed 7000SEK year 2002 for a set of 5, the spare was in good condition, the rest needed repair (last user liked to drive next to the curb) for 3000SEK + new tyres for 4500SEK (bought in Germany) I wouldn't never sell them for 8000SEK, that's a punce in the face.

You can make good deals on M-Para: s but it's hard on the E34 variant, if E38/E39 ok then it's more likely, but not common.

I don`t care what you have paid.
There has been two adds newly one set for 8000SEK, quite sure of it and one add 11000(that was with fresh rubber).
As I said, always question of what people want to pay, I for one have tough time to motivate buying used wheels for 10000SEK+

No - there is a bigger difference. The E34 M5 M-P's are forged and hence very light but still strong. The E38/39 M-P's are cast and hence heavier.

I bought a set of four 8" & 9" E34 M5 M-P's off e34.de and paid 1000euros for them. Including freight, they ended up costing me around 330 Euros each landed here. I can buy them new here for around 540 Euros a piece (after a pretty hefty discount).

Hello All,

While on the subject, does anyone know the offsets of the E-34 M5 M Parallel wheels, front and back? From reading the thread I gather the widths are 8" for the fronts and 9" for the rears, correct? Additionally, what size tires did the E-34 M5's equipped with the M Parallels come with?

Standard sizes were 245/40z18 all round - but I believe some people claim to have fitted 400/05/z25 tyres 'without rubbing' on the rear :nono:

Welcome to E34 M5 UK LE Ownership !
Thanks :D glad to be among the select few!
No - Tony's correct here - Standard sizes were 245/40z18 all round - it's a common upgrade by many owners to fit 265-section rubber on the rear - more grip, more understeer......
Ah-ha :lightbulb: I see. So what is the point of different wheel sizes but same size rubber, I wonder?
Understeer, oh yes, when you feel £s being shredded off as you enter each corner! :crying: What sizes do you run on your LE?
