Anyone planning to change theirs? Where can you get them & how easy to fit?

Thanks!

You mean like this?

"White LED Bulb" for the angle eye like this.
Image

same color tone as a HID head lamp.

The right side is "BMW Genuine Bulb" and the left side is "White LED Bulb".

The light source is "High-Power LED" like this. This is "Luxeon Star" made by Lumileds.

Image

This High-Power LED is about 140 times as bright as the usual LED.

Ex. )
Usual LED, "NICHIA NSPW-500BS"
Brightness: 9,200mcd(candela), Power: 0.72W(3.6V/20mA)

High-Power LED, "Luxeon Star LXHL-LW3C"
Brightness: 65lm(lumen), Power: 2.59W(3.7V/700mA)

65lm is 1,300,000mcd when Lumen is converted into Candela. (at viewing angle 10 degrees with "Collimator Lens".)

How bright it is!!

The right side is "BMW Genuine Bulb" and the left side is "White LED Bulb" which I made.

It consists of an aluminum pipe, an aluminum bar, and many aluminum L angles.

The aluminum L angles have a function as a heat-sink.

If you have to open up the sealed light area FORGET it! You will have condensation for sure....then everytime it rains or you wash your car the inside will get all fogged up...sucks.

First of all the head light units are not sealed. They have an openning in the back to dissappate heat generated by the Xenons.

And No you do not have to open up the sealed light area, the bulb is behind the head lights at the bottom.

See part Number 2 and Number 3. Life long Bulb and Parking Lamp Socket.

High-Power LED White Angel Eyes

Hello M5 Pilots!!

Dear EBMCS03. Thank you for introducing my work. Now I improved it like this.

Image

It is only replaced from the genuine bulb. It need not any modify the headlamp unit.

Check this URL,
http://www7.plala.or.jp/soaristo/page/diy/white_led2.htm

and click the link "Altavista" or "Excite" in the upper right of the page. Then it is translated into English by the translation engine.
(But it is very funny strange English.) hmmm

Now I started to make "High-Power LED Side Winker" like this.

By the way,

I purchased the M-Sport Package having been formally released from BMW Japan. It has "M-Sport Steering Wheels", "M-Sport Door Sill Protector", "M-Sport Alloy wheel" and so on.

There are many M-Badges on it. But you say do not put it rear, why??

(I can understand you want to monopolize it.) :hihihi:

> Blasphemy!!! I say hang him in the tallest tree!
> Im with xxxxxxx on this one LET HANG HIM!!! :)

And I can understand a few cliquey member also belongs on this forum, a fanatic "M-Believer".

It seems better that I do not stay here any longer. I say Good-Bye, through all eternity!! :sad1:

Noooo, come back! Onegai shimasu.

I don't mind the badges so much. You have 'M' equipment, and you're not trying to pass of as an M5, so I see nothing wrong. It's like a Mercedes with an AMG badge. If they have the rims or the body pieces I don't think it's wrong. As long as they don't try to pass off as a 55 or 65 model when they're not.

You can probably make quite a profit from us if you come back. And also the LED side markers.

Re: High-Power LED White Angel Eyes

At times it is embarrassing to be an M5 owner. Some of you (and you know who you are) need to grow up and become adults. This is ridiculous that you get upset about someone sticking an M badge on their car. If it said M5, I would laugh (internally) but never voice it to the owner or publicize my disapproval. If you don't have something nice to say...keep it to yourself and not alienate someone who made something most of us wish we had. This guy's work is amazing. I certainly could not have done what he did!

Also, while I am on the subject...some of you need to realize that the M5 is a great car, but by no means is it the end all, be all. It is a great sport sedan, but keep in mind that a stock C6 Vette will run right with an M5 to any speed under 100. Let's be real about what we have....the world's best SEDAN, not the world's best sports car.

You all could learn some class from the MB camp....they shrug these things off a whole lot better. C'mon guys...GROW UP!

Peace!
