This ironic part of the meet was that we were all talking about how common it is to see M5s in black and silver yet here we were with 6 LMB, 1 AW, and 2 SS. When we arrive at cars and coffee, it turns out there were two E39 M5s already there and unaware of our meet. Their colors? Black and silver.

Speaking of which, it must be even more of a bear to keep clean than LMB, but Jet Black sure looks good on the E39 M5.

Current stable:

2019 M2 Competition 6MT LBB, slicktop
2011.5 M3 sedan 6MT Silverstone, slicktop: Dinan front swaybar, Eibach rear swaybar, pins-out-max-camber-up-front, Dinan exhaust, Michelin PS4S, Apex EC-7 9.5/10.5x19
2007 328i wagon Silver/gray: Eibach 28mm front swaybar, E93 M3 rear swaybar, 219M M3 wheels, Michelin PSAS3+
1975 CanAm 125MX2: Stock, original owner

Great pictures! I'd love to talk with Tom about his experiences as an original owner and his 242,000 miles in his Beast. We need some type of national summer annual get together of M5s, like the Corvette people do with Carlisle and Bloomington Gold. I've never been to Bimmerfest, but those who have, say it's great.

I think it was Brian and Richard who I was talking to about Caramel interior dyeing/fixing -- well here is the thread I was mentioning where Kevin replaced the leather on the bolster.

I'm not sure how this was done unless it was custom and a cut of the original seat back leather was made to splice in the new bolster leather as it doesn't look like the whole back was replaced.

I would assume you'd need #2 in this link which costs $762 at Tischer and then add labor to install or DIY. If I was doing this, I'd probably have a hard time not replacing the bottom at the same time. Now if you had gotten the sport interior, it would still look like new.

Good idea - just sent my request to join.

Excellent morning. Really enjoyed myself, especially the exhaust shoot out.

I think Rush Hour should be our next meet up - I'm buying one of these - $40 for 8 races: Rush Hour Karting Deal of the Day | Groupon Raleigh / Durham

I noticed a caravan of Ferraris on 55 yesterday morning when I was headed back to Morrisville, as they were presumably coming from/headed to the C&C meet. Still, I completely forgot about the M5 meetup.
I would've been the odd man out with my Imola, but I think I'm okay with that given the rest of the company
I'll be adding the group on FB shortly.
