Me so sad.

Too bad. I got one of the new F10 M5s from BMW to write a Roundel article on, and I had brought it by so that everyone could take it for a spin. Full tank of gas, new rear tires. But noooooooooo. No, no one shows. FINE.

FINE. Just see if I ever bring you guys another brand new M5 to drive.

Ha!

Michael
Michael,

I've only been twice, once to the original meet last December and then the one a couple of months back when you were there. I was under the impression nobody went unless someone tried to gather a group like a couple of months back.

Anyway, thanks for coming by with the new M5. Lots of torque for sure, but that damn CEL and limp mode BS sure put a crimp on the fun of driving a FOUR THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED pound 7-series sized boat. Oh well, still waiting on the F30/F80 M3 sedan here.

Current stable:

2019 M2 Competition 6MT LBB, slicktop
2011.5 M3 sedan 6MT Silverstone, slicktop: Dinan front swaybar, Eibach rear swaybar, pins-out-max-camber-up-front, Dinan exhaust, Michelin PS4S, Apex EC-7 9.5/10.5x19
2007 328i wagon Silver/gray: Eibach 28mm front swaybar, E93 M3 rear swaybar, 219M M3 wheels, Michelin PSAS3+
1975 CanAm 125MX2: Stock, original owner

Think there were a couple posts on the facebook group page, but didn't seem like very many were interested. I had kid's soccer games that day, so couldn't go. Maybe next month.

There is a VIR charity laps event this Friday. I know Richard was thinking of going, but not sure of anyone else. I plan to drive up.

I was just yanking chains. I don't think we'll get one over here for several months - according to R&T it won't be released for the US until next August?

I will bug Satch (again) for the chance to do a story on it, but I sometimes he just ignores me.

Ah! Well, that explains it! I don't check facebook very often, so I'd likely not see any comments there anyway.

Maybe in the spring we can organize something (it was rather chilly this past weekend morning).

I don't do facebook at all, so I'm always out of the loop if something is posted there. Usually someone posts in this thread or another one on the board here.

Considering my chain yanked....

Yeah, I thought August of 2012 was the U.S. availability, but I know some "special" people get these vehicles a little early.

As for Mfest, it was very fun, especially the drive over from Lewisville. Even though the day was a bit chilly - even had a little rain - the event was well-attended, the planning was excellent, and the venue was good; a bit light on the E-39 M5s, though. Maybe next year we can get a more representative showing...
