Thumbs down Dan Goodrich

Assuming we don't blow the S3 up this Monday at Atco, I'll have to make an appointment with your detailing operation to get her cleaned up and make her presentable for any photo ops with a pro the caliber of Dan Goodrich.

Do you remove exterior trim pieces for your detail? From your pics, I see you actually take the wheels off for cleaning. Besides cleaning them, do apply any protectant/wheel wax-type product?
How many hours does the 'complete' package take?
Thanks.

How extensive of a detail?

When detailing a vehicle it is best to fully understand what the client wants and how can we get there. In the case of a black or dark colored vehicle the exterior usually is a 4-8 hour job in itself(depending on the condition of the paint). Any parts that can be easily removed are removed and there is an extensive masking process that covers up everything but the painted surfaces. Each vehicle is different and each client is different so the initial consultation is where we would start. I use nothing that contains abrasives, only leveling polish that works by chemically liquifying the clear on a microscopic level to smooth the paint and not by "shaving" away any clearcoat. Pictures do not do a car justice so what looks good in a picture or the shade will most definitely have cobwebbing and scratches that the untrained(even trained) eye cannot see. Let me educate you and you will see what a flawless polish job is all about. If you would like, I will spend a little time discussing the art of detailing with the members at the meet. If you are also interested, I will measure the paint thickness on your cars so you know the range in mils of your paint. It will also show where there is any filler or a repainted area. It is a Kett coating thickness tester(military grade) unlike the ones that are used by dealerships and wholesalers. I hope some of your questions have been addressed and we'll talk more on 3/10 and 3/29.
Thanks for the inquiry.

Bruce. Thanks for the reply. My car is in dire need of a detail (have had the car almost 2 years and thru 2 winters...I know, I know, should have done it sooner). Let's definitely talk tomorrow at Atco. I'll be in the only silver E60 M5 there.
