Need a Peake reader in DC please!

Hello, my car has been throwing an SES code on and off for the last 5 months but has been driving and performing fine. Just a few days ago it started misfiring and the exhaust started smelling funny so my beast is parked until I get it diagnosed...I'm guessing spark plugs or CPS.

I have just ordered a Peake Research code reader but I'm afraid with the holiday mail traffic it will be a while before it gets here and the sooner I get my baby diagnosed the sooner I can get her the parts she needs and back on the road!

If you are in the Washington, D.C. area and have a diagnostic tool of some kind and would be kind enough to let me use it I would be more than willing to either take a short drive to your home/work/meeting place or if you live too far to risk taking my car I could take my wife's car and borrow your tool and leave some kind of collateral to ensure your peace of mind and return within 1-2 hours after completing the diagnostic. Please post or PM me if you are able to help me out in any way and I thank you guys in advance!

Ok, I now have a Peake but I STILL need a Peake because I believe my Peake reader may be defective due to the codes I'm getting. If you have one please be kind enough to let me drive over and do a quick 5 minute reading to see if I have the same results as with mine to see if it's my car or my reader, if you are within 45 minutes of D.C. Thanks everybody!

Hey Ted,

I believe (from reading your other threads) you already got a new peake reader and solved your problem. If not, I just got my Peake R5/FCX-3 the other day. Let me know if you still need to use it.

Actually if anyone else in the Northern VA area needs a code read, let me know.

Thanks

Yes, I figured all my issues out now but thank you very much for the offer! Have you had any codes to read yet with your e39? If yes, does the first number your FCX-3 displays a 18 or 1B?
