I'm in CA until Saturday so I can't make it to either event this weekend. Jazzah13, keep checking back here or at least the Mountain sub forum periodically for future GTG or drives. Cori, sorry you couldn't make it, hope to meet you next time. We only saw a Sheriff parked, talking to another motorist and just figured he was probably amused as 5 very similar M5's passed by, slooooooowly.

Sheriffs aren't like troopers. They'd rather not pull you over unless you're drunk or dangerous. Still, I'd be nervous driving by with a muffler delete.

Anyone interested in a drive on the 18th? I can't do more than a few hours but I'd certainly be game for a run and some lunch if anyone else is down with it.

BMW Autocross summer event #2 was a blast today. Thanks to 2k for showing up! Post a link to your pics when you get them uploaded!

Again the M5 performs very well given its size and weight disadvantages in autocross events. This car handles so well stock and it seems time lost braking earlier is easily made up for by immense low-end power. Still running all-season tires which was definitely evident today (lots of sliding, lots of drifting ). Only thing heavier there was an X6 5.0iDrive which actually was running around the same times I was -- absolutely mind boggling.

Good times, Kevin! Too bad it took me forever to get there, but I got a few shots worthy of posting.

Matt, looks like a great time. My wife booked a surprise weekend in the mtns for Father's Day, so unfortunately I won't be able to make it. Maybe next year. Have fun and share some pictures when you get a chance.
