Why not check out car-part? But bumpers are really hard to ship without getting all sorts of scuffed. May be better to just buy a reconditioned one from a local auto-body supply and have it painted if you can't find one.

I have one silver front bumper, but it just sold locally. It was aftermarket and I'm not a big fan of those. All my other recent parts cars have front end damage and no surviving front bumpers. I'm in Howard County, about 30 minutes north of DC.

any specific reason for "not being a fan" ?

I've heard about a possible fitment issue, but given the price difference (~200 vs. ~800) i think its an attempt worth trying

Can they deform post painting?

Several.

Fitment is usually not good, especially at the wheel well opening. Most tend to come up short, leaving an obvious notch. Some are better than others (same brand) and you won't know what to expect. Returning a bad one is a nightmare due to shipping cost and effort.

They generally lack cutouts for the headlight washers. Not tragic as those things are awful, but also not authentic.

Many are wavy and have the contours are different from OEM. I can spot them immediately.

BMW of Silver Spring has new OEM bumper covers for $675. Still obscene, but sure to fit.

In summary, there are no "good" options. I get a dozen or more requests a week and generally disappoint. Of the nearly 80 M5's I've parted out, I've had less than 10 good front bumpers. So, one a year or so.

many thanks for the detailed reply.

The more i think about it, the more i am encouraged to try and fix my current bumper (cracked at the right bottom corner, where the plastic "bump" is located.

Just getting a none-OEM bumper, cutting out the lower portion of the right corner (where the plastic bulge is) and weld it to the original bumper currently on the car.
More labor intensive, but sure fitment and no issues expected.
