Hi Will,

Congrats for the new 335i , well to correct your info, the 335i 0-100 km/hr @ 5.5 sec , with 1600 kg curb weight, so i can assure you that u will stay side by side with our beast till 100 km/hr and when the M5 shift to the 3rd gear, i think you need a telescope 100 hp difference and only 200kg difference so its obvious man that your oxford green is faster but anyways its a very good choice, enjoy it

So you think I would spend this much money on a car that was just as fast as my present car? Yeah Right.
Check the Car and Driver report like I told you bro

Transmissions: 6-speed automatic with manumatic shifting, 6-speed manual
Wheelbase: 108.7 in
Length/width/height: 180.3/70.2/54.1-54.2 in
Curb weight: 3400-3600 lb
C/D test results (335i):
Zero to 60 mph: 4.9 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 12.1 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 5.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.6 sec @ 105 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 144 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 160 ft
Projected fuel economy (C/D est):
EPA city driving: 20-21 mpg
EPA highway driving: 29-30 mpg

And here is the website;
http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtest...ecs-page2.html

Like I said, the car is much much lighter than my E39 M5 with aluminium engine and chassis and to boot has a trick twin turbo engine, so like I told you, I am soon to be finishing the running in period, so lets both just put our months salary on the table and we will see, my opinion is that I will blow you up to the quarter mile then you will start to catch up and afer 144mph when my govenor kicks in you will catch me and kick my butt. But like I said I have had my M5 for some time now and I know the difference, just be patient and we will see, are you the first of our club members to take on the challenge of this cherrypicker newcomer?

My buddy has the same car and he has tried numerous times with the M5 and got nowhere near me, although the initial few yards he can leave me, we will see with the 335i though, nice car and lots of fun.
We look forward to seeing the young bucks compare with an old bugger in a little 3 series eh?
Picture it,

My wife has the video camera behind me on Mina Port, I am in the middle in the little cute 335i, on either side we have Osama and Mohammed in their big powerful M5's, the light goes green and somebody's face or faces will be red around 4.7 seconds later. Cant wait

I'm very interested to see just how well the 335 goes. I know that when they put it on the track for the Autocar ME thing last year the instructors there at the time were shocked it had no LSD. BUT, they loved driving it on the road and if thats all you can get upset about then you have made a good purchase. At the end of the day road cars are not made for the track in standard form except maybe a few..... 911 GT3RS.
