website Connection Issues

Hello!

I have a somewhat odd issue that I’m hoping you can help with. For some reason, when I try to connect to your website from home, I receive an “ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT” message. I've already called my ISP and they said everything looked good on their end and that they don't block any websites except for abuse cases. My suspicion is that something on your end may be blocking/dropping my attempt to connect. Is there any way you can check and see if that’s the case? Here is the tracert information if that helps:

Tracing route to m5board.com [173.193.190.152]

Yes, that's definitely odd, and I apologize for the inconvenience! I don't currently see anything in your user settings that should affect your site access, nor have I heard about other member's having trouble accessing the site. Can you please clarify which browser/device you're using? I just want to try to narrow down some of the variables while looking into this for you.

Cheers,

Erik

Yep

Just noticed that I sent a reply, yesterday, that didn't get posted.

To address Erik's questions:

I am currently running on a Windows 10 Pro (v. 1709, build 16299.192) using both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.

For comparison, here's the tracert from my office network. Note that only the last line is missing when I try to connect from home:

Do you see that error any time you access the site or was it just on some pages? Or was there a function you were trying to use when that error appeared? If so, what were you attempting?

Thanks,
Nate

Hi, Nate.

Unfortunately, I am unable to reach any of the pages on the site. I know this is somewhat baffling and I'm not a network engineer but it appears that the site is dropping requests coming from my home network. Does that sound plausible?

I appreciate your efforts in trying to help resolve this issue!

I think you may need to compare the difference on your work browser and home browser settings. like the version and the extensions being used. as well as the malware protectors.

is your home network different from your work one?
