I have a 2000 M5 with the secondary air pump issue (AA code on the Peake scanner) and just want my car to pass smog in CA. Don't really care about performance upgrades, etc. Which software would simply accomplish that by showing the secondary air system to be "ready"?

Download BMWFlash, get an FTDI cable with ft232rl chipset, and you can code it out yourself for however much the cable costs...

Awesome, thanks. Is this reversible? Not that I plan on that but just wondering.

Best,
Hugh

Yep, you just need to hex edit four registers in the DME code. BMWFlash will take a read, just make a backup of that before you edit the file so you have a fallback.

I've been looking into this but feel like I might be a little of my league. Do you know of a post or website with some good instructions?

Thanks again.
