I have been thinking about this as well, but it seems like he have no problems getting his hands on supercars, right now we see at least a Veneno roadster, P1 and AM One-77 in Geneva with similar licence plates.. So I guess most manufacturers don't care. Maybe this was deal was up to FFF since the One:1 "thing" was their?

What surprises me more is the fact HE could do the deal (if he did?). I'm quite sure he is blocked of _any_ bank transfer from/to US and not allowed to open an account of any kind there, but seems hes money "works" quite well in other parts of the world .. It seems strange that the financial world have not got restrictions for someone like this, they seem perfectly legitimate until it's revolution in their country and first then they start to freeze assets ..

About screening buyers;
this devious character most likely used a proxy or a string of proxies.
It's not like in the weapons trade where you need an End-user certificate.
The driver in the picture may be a proxy or he is just the hotel parking valet.

I doubt that he himself actually made the call and bought the car. Any member of his staff could have ordered it, and even paid for it. As mentioned above, you don't need to inform Koenigsegg about where the car will go or be owned by. You spec it, and pay your money in what they assume is an honest manner, and then it gets registered and used by a not so good guy.

Well the truth is that a few here has knowned about this buyer a long time. If we figured it out based on basicly "nothing" then Christian should have done it within seconds.

Please explain "nothing".
It's an honest question, I just want know how you figured it out.
How would CvK know if the car was ordered and purhcased by a proxy (ombud)?

Really interesting to discuss..

Koenigsegg knew the owner, there is no doubt about that.

But on the other side, why not sell to this dictators son? #039, #073, #080 #083 and so on.. Why stop it at dictator families? How have the buyer earned his money? Is general gangsters "allowed" to buy a Koenigsegg? If not, oups .. that was another handfull of owners gone! People who don't pay tax? People who punch others in the face for a profession? You can probably continue taking customers away until the market is gone.. Koenigsegg isn't supposed to be "political", politicians are..

But on the other side when I buy my coffee (or anything else) I want it to be "sustainable", a brand like Koenigsegg is part who buys it, and of course this hurts. But a market like this will always have this kind of customers. They can always buy a used Koenigsegg and what about service? Should they deny service, on for example #014 sold used to a Ben Ali (former Tunis dictator) family member? That would hurt the brand even more if some cars didn't get proper service?

Cynical? yes I know that's how I'm :^) If I don't make the dirty business someone else do, I just need to make something better out of it. When I was a university student there was always (under aged) kids asking if I could buy cigarettes (need to be 18 where I live). I always did. In those days they always wanted the small 10-packs. Before I gave them the pack I asked if I could take a cigarette, never a problem.. Opened the pack, took a cigarette, lit it and took another (or two) behind my ear. Then it wasn't that good a deal and you could tell by their body language when you handled them the "plundered" pack. Same thing with a 6-pack of beer, can I take one? Thanks, I'll just take one for my father/friend as well .. win-win+win, They got that feeling of being fooled and we all got cigarettes and beer.. I'm quite sure Koenigsegg pulled a few more cigarettes out of this pack than they would have done to any other customer, or kept a bit more of the change than expected, so to say .. it's after all business not politics ..

I'm not sure about the choice of owner...didnt Koenigsegg say ~15 people wanted the One:1? Surely 1 of the 8 or so that were left out had a better track record than this guy...
