Koenigsegg to launch in US in October - reports suggest

I was doing some "investigative research" (borderline stalking) on Instagram and found out that Koenigsegg will be setting up a US dealership/service department with EmporioMotorGroup in New Jersey. They will be having a launch party with an Agera (presumably #99) sometime in October. This (again presumably) means their cars will be allowed under CCX US exemptions, unless they have gotten new exemptions.

"Emporio Motor Group serving Jersey City, New York City NY, Atlantic City NJ, Los Angeles CA, Miami FL, and Baltimore MD" - this is great, Koenigsegg will have a good dealership/service department across the US if they partner with them.

If all is true I am extremely excited.

Source: Instagram account: LamborghiniKS - the guy who has a very impressive collection including a Veneno and may consider ordering a Koenigsegg. He posted a picture 2 weeks ago of a Koenigsegg leather jacket, and in the comments someone mentioned the dealership stuff and the dealer commented on the post confirming.

Hmm, any ideas as to why they've delayed the US launch so long if the car was legal? #99 has been finished for a long time now. The launch MUST be soon, its already half a month past when the dealership said they'd be getting the car and I can't imagine another reason for them delaying the delivery of the car.

To be fair, i don't know if he was entirely sure what he was talking about, he said to another guy that the Agera R had the same 4.7 engine as the CCX, just with turbos rather than superchargers..

However he did seem very sure when i asked him if the Agera was legal, i even asked him twice...
It could be that the customer has decided to wait to take delivery. The Zonda HH spent some time in a dealership awaiting delivery, so did the Zonda Absolute aswell as the Hundra. For the record, the car might even be in the states without us knowing about it, and they're waiting to launch it until the customer is ready to take delivery.

I don't think theres any hurry to launch the car, if someone is really keen on getting an Agera in the U.S then Koenigsegg probally knows about it. An official launch would be good for marketing purposes, but i don't think it would help them sell any cars.

Come to think of it, I would bet at this point the US owner may be waiting until all the necessary people at Emporio are trained and ready to service the car the day he takes delivery of it. Obviously the car is ready at this point. But I would totally understand not wanting to take delivery of a car until it can be serviced and repaired locally and not in Sweden.

I thought the production of the standard Agera had stopped to give room for the Agers S? Dont see a point not buying the S?
And according to Koenigsegg the Aircore wheels are standard on the S and R so i dont understand the 42,5K USD option? Maybe to the standard Agera?

Personally i would pay extra to get the vortex wheel instead :)

Unpainted VGRs makes for a gorgeusly clean look! I'm however not a fan of the two tone painted ones like on #7092.
Personally though i prefer the look of the Aircores, especially after seeing them in real life.

My favorite wheels however are the 11 spoke edition wheels, very clean and elegant look.

I seriously don't understand Koenigsegg sometimes. They also say on the website (or at least used to) that the Agera S redlined at 8250 rpm... I'm pretty sure the digital tachometer doesn't even go up that high. CvK once said that the CCX motor could handle 8500rpm, but they limited it due to reliability concerns. So maybe they put those numbers in to show what they've tested to.
A 5l TT V8 revving to 8250 is crazy though.

CvK has said before that the Agera R makes 1160hp...he said that about #92. Also notice that they often say "1200hp" or "1200hp" whereas 1140PS (1124hp) is clearly closer to 1100hp. Maybe they underrate their cars a bit?

I'm not completely certain how all these different numbers come about...seems like everyone in the company would know all the figures. Or at least they'd fact check their websites and brochures and such lol.

.. but raised from 7000 to 7250 not 8250!? Or is the volume of the exhaust manifolds big enough to "eat" the blowdown interference? And the slow turbo response that comes with it compensated by the patented compressed-air-tank-thing. I've not checked it much but to my understanding/imagination, it's about precompresed air feed to the intake when the turbo can't respond fast enough? I'm kind of a noob in this field (and half of what I think I know might be made up in my own brain :^).

Edit: Or is there some kind of system/valve for alternating the volume of the exhaust manifolds depending on rpm?

Edit2: checked the patents, can't find something fitting with the thing I've obviously made up with my imagination.. :^) 8250 rpm just sounds insane to me!! What's the trick? :)
