Hmm.. Yea maybe. I don't think the Agera S was making more than 1030hp when it raced the Veyron though, that race seemed pretty legitimate.
Unless they already have the One:1 engine in the #77, then it will be ridiculous.

It will be ready when U.S registration is ready. It was supposed to be unveiled at Pebble this summer, but since the registration was delayed they decided to pull out and not do the same mistake as last year (and the same mistake Pagani did this year..).

Someone asked in a thread on teamspeed some weeks back, and the response from Jens was "we are working on it".
Very curious on what's holding them back since registration has been "almost" finished for a long time now.

Funny thing is that Koenigsegg are the ones themselves who decides when the car is compliant or not compliant. Matt knows a thing or two about that

The photoshoot by Oskar Bakke is probally for the U.S unveiling at Emporio

I shot Emporio an email asking when they would recieve the car a few days ago, never got a response. There's only a few days left in October though so if the original statements hold true, hopefully we'll see the car very soon! I don't understand why it has taken so long to get US registration.

@Dave -

Another possibility -- maybe the EPA side of things is causing the delays, in terms of the emissions/fuel economy. The EPA and the NHTSA do not work together. Most cars are not actually tested by the EPA, but rather the manufacturers themselves or third party specialists. The test results are reviewed by the EPA and if they are satisfied that the procedures were done in accordance with EPA specification, then the stamp of approval is given.

The EPA does however test a small percentage of cars on its own, if it deems it necessary. With the recently issues with certain Hyundai and Ford hybrid vehicles not actually meeting their claimed MPG ratings, they might be looking a bit closer than they have in the past. Especially in the case of a small manufacturer, who has not been in the market in five years.

Not sure what the timing on all of this is, but one problem may be that the U.S. federal government was recently "shut down" for a few weeks due to political nonsense. Even if Koenigsegg had their results in hand, there would have been no one to submit them to! If the EPA were conducting the testing themselves, you would imagine a further delay.

Just guessing though. I'm sure Koengisegg and the customer are very keen to debut this car, more so than we are to see it!

It could be worse -- George Lucas took delivery of the first U.S.-legal 2004 Mosler MT900S in December 2006!
