Waiting for the stork!

We took delivery in Munich on Jul/28, and have been counting the seconds ever since! New babies should be here next week! I ordered the Aragon Brown without having seen any swatches (they didn't have swatches at Die Welt either, so I only got to see the color when they actually brought the car up!) AMAZING interior color, if anyone out there is considering it I say, JUMP HEAD ON! The photos don't do it justice: it is a very rich caramel, reminds you of the Cinnamon of the E46 ///M3, but richer.

Congrats!

I just returned from a business trip to Munich and spent some time with an old friend there. Being British, I'd never really found the whole Euro-delivery thing appealing... but I believe I should re-think that. The idea of picking up my new car, taking a vacation with it and then collecting it a month or so later sounds much more appealing now I've been re-acquainted with the Autobahn.

Don't forget the discount you get when you do Euro Delivery. It is 7% now, but BMW NA will reduce it to 5% from 01/01/2016. Anyway, it is still enough to cover the trip itself, and you get the "Welt Delivery" experience. As to the Autobahn, I was very disappointed this time around. It has become so packed that you are lucky if you get to open up for more than a couple of minutes at a time.

His and hers?

What are the spec differences? It looks like (and I'm making a leap here) one is Comp Pkg and the other not?

All that aside: did you really buy two of the exact same car? I'm betting the interior of your home is a mathematician's dream

// EDIT: I'm an idiot--one is clearly an E-series (even the tag)... doh! Stupid me. So what happens to that one? Sold or too attached?

You are funny. First, it's "hers and hers".
You were right on the competition package (F12). Differences are all mainly under the hood and in the cabin. Other than the same body color, the interior color is different - yep, just because they no longer make the Indianapolis Red, otherwise there would be no difference LOL.

You are right about the mathematician's comment. Geee is it THAT obvious??

What about you? Judging by your avatar you got an E63 right? I must admit, I like the coupe lines better, but I love the top-down thing, so no option for me there. Having said that, a coupe M6 is an absolute head turner for me!

As to the question: too attached. I will keep that V10 for-e-ver

Responses in order:

- I know!! My wife disagrees but what does she know...
- You go girl--an M6 dynasty is breeding in your garage... WOW
- Who knew... I'm a BMW expert
- What about Sakhir Orange--not a fan?
- Symmetry and feng shui -- works for me... hehehe

I updated my garage after you pointed out the pics were quite stale.

Here are a few pics of my baby|ies (the M5 is now gone but I had them both for a short time):

My oh my! It'd be nice to meet you and your wife! We seem to be into the same type of cars! Pity we don't live closer to each other. Let me know if you guys ever come to Texas. Circuit of the Americas anyone?? :-))

My husband just sold his F10 M5, and is getting the Alpina B6 you see in the photos above. That one should arrive next week, some messup at the Vehicle Prep Center in Brunswick, so they didn't ship together.

I hear you on the "M6 dinasty", but we simply have no room left for more cars. I am actually considering raising the garage ceiling and having lifts installed. I also got a gorgeous E30 M3. Friends of ours have an E24 M6 (Euro spec), and we have had them come over with it for photo shoots of all 3 generations. Pretty cool. I plan to do some photo shooting of the 2 M6s this weekend (weather allowing), will post some photos.

The Sakhir Orange is too orange for me. Actually, I initially ordered the Sakhir interior, then changed my mind when they launched the Aragon Brown. I miss the Indianapolis Red. The leather just gets better as the car ages, it is much deeper red now that it was when new. Another great color was the Chateau Red that they offered in the early E63/4s. I had a 645 and later a 650 with that interior; it was a deep, wine red color. Having said that, I am absolutely in love with the Aragon Brown. It is an unbelievable color, BMW hit the bull's eye with this one!

- Who knew... I'm a BMW expert: which ones have you had?

Tell me about the Competition Package. Is it that much more noticeable?

Wow... great history.

I've had the following:
- 2007 E60 550i (White--Sold)
- 2008 E60 550i (Gray--Sold)
- 2011 F10 550xi (White--Sold)
- 2012 F10 550xi (Gray--Sold)
- 2014 F10 M5 (Singapore Gray--Wrecked)
- 2014 F10 M5 (Singapore Gray--Sold)
- 2015 F10 M5 (Silverstone II--Sold)
- 2015 F06 M6 Gran Coupe (Silverstone II--still in lust with it)

I can't really speak to the Comp Pkg because I've not experienced a car fully without it. I don't consciously buy it but the cars I take off of the lot always seem to have it... who am I to argue?
