talking Oh no... I did what!

Hi Guys,

Last weekend I decided to visit my local BMW dealership and buy a car. Unfortunately it's not an M5 . Will you forgive me?

I went to my local dealership, Stephen James in Bromley, only to be ignored by the sales staff and not approached once. So, after that wonderful experience, I trotted off to Stephen James Ruxley. And, Wow, what a different experience – a warm welcome, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for buying a car. Whilst I was there I got chatting with Ross (who incidentally used to work at Stephen James in Bromley), and is the New Car Sales Manager there and ordered myself a new M6 GC.

Now, I have never ordered such an expensive car brand new before, and to be honest, early this week I did wonder if I had made the right decision. On reflection, hand on my heart, I can truly say I have.

The only down side is that I cannot stay on here …. I will really. I met some great people at Jag’s meet at Christmas and look forward to hopefully meeting up with more of you fine folk again soon…. If you’ll have me and my M6 that is.

Have a great weekend all.

Trev

Congratulations, Trevor, and while we will (inevitably) take the piss over your suspicious choice of car...you'll always be welcome here

I bought mine from Ruxley as well, and yes, they are a completely different kettle of fish to Bromley.

Did you spec it all up and everything, or is it one they had in stock?

2015 F10 M5 in Imperial Blue
2001 E39 M5 in LMB. Stoptech BBK, braided lines, Intravee and Alpine DAB
2000 E39 M5 in Silverstone - Died at 218,000 miles (accident )

2007 Full factory SBK CBR-1000RR for...going really feckin' fast

2018 S1000RR Sport for going even faster than the Honda...but with mirrors and heated grips

Thanks for letting me stay here .

Yeah I spec'd it myself and pick it up last week of March with a new 17 plate.

Agreed. Of all my cars, my last M6 GC was by far my favourite.

Nice one. I love the GC. Yes you have done the right thing, just make sure you pop over when you collect it :-)

Lucky you got good service at Ruxley, I ordered mine from Sytner Nottingham because they were so rude.

Enjoy and congrats.

I had two Singapore Grey M5s before my M6s and loved them both. I did learn, though, that it's one of those colours that looks great clean and not so much dirty... you know unlike white or black that don't show it quite so much.

I also chose the 601M wheels--I still prefer their look to the 343M. Over here in the States, though, they don't 'a-la-carte' our arses to death with individual options--instead, we choose packages. I chose Exec, Competition and one other that escapes me for now to get very similar options to you. I also added the B&O sound system since I love quality/loud sound. I use every single toy, too--which is nice since it means they're worth their money--with the exception of lane-departure warning (I turn it off) because it annoys me. The other option I added was the BMW Performance Exhaust (re-badged Akrapovic)--this is money well spent; it's worth every penny. Here are a few pics of the M5 in Singapore Gray and my last M6 GC in Black with the same options as yours (not sure on the interior trim, I chose carbon fiber):

I too have the carbon fibre interior. Also, I was originally going to have these Oh no... I did what!-433m-alloys.png ...
but decided to have the 601's as they are the ones that come with the Comp pack.

Yeah, I really like those wheels, too. I learned from Richard here I think that they're part of the non-Comp Pkg car but I personally think they look nicer than the 343M wheels... but the 601s just have that look of class... and they're quite rare, too.

Congrats again--I know you'll love it.
