UK Christmas Vacation

Well, my wife just had the notion to head to the UK for Christmas and see a band she's a bit...obsessive about. We are all of about 30 minutes into contemplating this trip and I figured I would ask the natives for info.

We would be flying in to RAF Mildenhall and making our way down to London from there. And that's it. That's all we've got so far.

Any recommendations for a visit?

Cheers!

I have to ask, what band? Long way to go for a concert!

You've got Cambridge and Saffron Walden close by and both are en route to London. i cant think of anywhere to stop any closer to London that is worth your time though. you wont be short of entertainment once you get to London though!

Well, looks like it's actually happening. Will be flying in somewhere between the 14th to 20th Military aircraft, can't pin down date).

Looks like Mildenhall isn't doable, so will most like head to Frankfurt Germany them make out way over

The concert (The Cure) is on the 21st of December in Hammersmith, so will be staying around there somewhere.

Planning to see a few sights as well while we are there and heading back just before the new year. A stop in Luton is a must (for me, not so much the wife) to see the Evolve boys and if I can convince the wife, a trip around the Ring in the Ring Taxi when we arrive in Frankfurt to kill the jet lag.

Looking forward to it, the wife and daughters as well.

So, we flew into Shannon, Ireland and spent the night there. Saw Bunratty Castle and them headed to Cork. toured through Blarney castle and followed my grandmother's footsteps from 40 years ago and kissed the Blarney Stone because, well...because. Wife seems to think that's the last think I needed...

Flew into London on Friday and did the tourist thing for a couple of days. Heading north Monday morning to RAF Mildenhall area.

Will probably head back south of London the 24th towards Crawley or Beachy head. Any recommendations for a bed and breakfast near there for Christmas?
