Silverstone 'Arena GP' BMW Trackday - Sept 24th 2012

Silverstone BMW Trackday,
Monday 24th September 2012

Full 'Arena' GP Circuit
Open Pitlane
Full use of the entire Silverstone 'Wing' garages
Free ARDS instruction (three of my guys are ARDS grade S 'super-instructors')
Dedicated novice schooling and tutorials
Friendly club atmosphere
Non member guests welcome
Non BMW's welcome
Trophies and prizes

Free photographs for you to keep courtesy of our official photographer

Full magazine coverage from BMW Car Magazine

BMWCC Members £275 - Non members £325 - that's the cheapest day there this year by a country mile.. BookEasyGold and all the others charge around £400.

I keep the entry numbers low so we all get plenty of time on circuit.

Over 30 years at Silverstone - we have been coming here each Autumn since the 70's!
The daddy of all Club trackdays - This for us is where it all began, out on the grand prix circuit and we are still enjoying it.
We don't share with anyone, we bite the bullet and book the whole place as an exclusive hire, we always have - not a bad achievement for a small one marque members club!
If you only do one trackday this year, do this one!

Regards
Nick

Just back from this track day, which unfortunately was cancelled after the first couple of outings due to un-relenting heavy rain, and, un-avoidably water logged circuit.

it really was too wet, the standing water covered 90%+ of the tarmac, and in some places it was probably several inches deep, I tried full throttle, whilst in a straight line, in 3rd, when hit 4250rpm the tail was twitching, a lot,. this isn't normal behaviour for my car ;-)

Nick - thanks for organising today, you must be pretty fed up after all your hard work getting day this to happen in the first place!

and, more thanks for having such a good relationship with Silverstone circuit that they have offered us replacement track day :-)

I think I was next to you in the garage 1day.

It is very good of Silverstone to offer a replacement day, just hope it's a day when I can make it.

It was definitally a little damp out there

At the moment that looks like a day that I can do, better block the day out in the diary!

great fun today at the re-run event :-)

nice to meet RichardP and Matt again.

I won the raffle draw for free entry to all the 2013 BMW CC track days, I'm a bit stunned by that!

Driving standards where high, didn't really get blocked and had some nice laps towards the end of the day, the dry-ish surface by 2pm allowed my confidence to build, and then let me remember how to drive quickly on a track, it's been a while.

also, road cars and tyres on a track are a new thing for me, had some instruction from one of the ARDS guys which also helped a lot, given that I've never driven Silverstone GP before, in my head, it's still a pentagon shape ;-)

Thanks to Nick and co for organising a great day

Jamie / 1day

Good to meet up with you again Jamie, lucky bugger with that raffle, you only just realised that you'd won in time before they drew another ticket!

I've posted a video of my first session out with an instructor in the E39 forum https://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...day-video.html.

:-)

I didn't see the winning ticket in my hand, it was buried / folded underneath a whole load of other tickets in my hand!

Looking forward to next years track days already !
