Powerchip, Coery Dillon was a very good football player. But, I don't think you should use him as "reference". Just google him, and find out about his character. Not saying a convict does not have rights. Furthermore, any response on the drug charges? I always thought coke in the '80's with Don Johnson in Miami to be more romantic/exciting than meth. in the present day. It(meth) makes you look so "hillbilly skinny" after awhile, and I do not recommend meth. without a good dental plan.

Wow...Just Wow

Like the old adage says there are two sides to every story: yours...theirs...and the truth.
At the end of the day this forum was meant to be a bank of information for M5/M3/M6 enthusiasts.....sourced from fellow enthusiasts as well as commercial enterprises looking to sell/promote their product.
So the question: Is What Gustav posted originally relevant?.....IMHO it is for several reasons:
  • we already have a thread/sticky about unethical vendors..WHY?? because we as a community had determined that is was beneficial to ALL to be made aware of vendors that are not doing right by their customers through either product or customer service or both.
  • this forum provides vendors with an already sourced out pool of potential customers....forums like these are a vendors dream....they give them instant access to revenue...if they weren't they WOULD NOT PAY to be sponsors.
  • when vendors go on these forums...or quite frankly anyone.....they should prepare for potential 'bad press'...by that I mean that the internet is a accessible medium for people to vent their dissatisfaction with products or customer service...and when a vendor uses this medium to promote & benefit $$$ from they should be prepared for these instances and not whine about so and so saying bad things about me. My response would be to step and answer blow by blow what transpired....this goes both ways.....if a client wants to air their displeasure about a product/service/vendor...they should be prepared as well to have their claims rebuked in kind.
personally I would NEVER buy an aftermarket product in its development stage....but that is just me....and quite frankly it is my opinion that alot of the early FI builds were just that....and the learning curve is longer for some.
with that said....I hope that the truth comes out for all the members on this board that are considering using this/these products.
Regards
S

Bah, here it goes. Its going back and forth and it will never end.

Those in the M5board community know that I have worked with Jeremy for a few years. When he was employed with PC, he was the one that came here to tune the cars for our performance packages. Me and Jeremy developed a friendship and but we did see things differently when it came to tuning. I am not familiar with tuning the BMW DMEs so I relied on his experience to do the BMW cars. I am however familiar with tuning in general as I have tuned multiple cars and I have tuned our own Opel NA-FI tune from scratch (took over 12 months). I have read and studied various tuning books, attending tuning schools, etc. Quite frankly, Wayne's comment about Jeremy being a "junior tuner" is not far from the truth. Junior tuners think about two things when they tune. They think leaning the AFR and increasing timing is gonna make more power. Although those things can increase power, there is a lot more to it than that. RPi's relationship with Powerchip broke when I noticed some things that was being done to the tunes that I did not agree with. There were conversations I had where I specifically asked for less timing and more fuel or less timing all together. I kept the comments and criticism to myself as my intentions were to just find someone else that can tune the BMWs for us to the standards that I wanted for RPi customers. So, yes, the reason we stopped working with PC and Jeremy was because I didnt think the changes were safe/reliable for what I wanted done. Now here is where I disagree with Wayne on another thread he posted.......specifically mentioning ESS and Active Autowerks. I couldnt disagree more. Out of all the tuners I had talked to AJ is the ONLY one that took the time to come to CA and prove what he could do. I agree with his tuning approach and hes the only person I have had tuning conversations with that didnt try to blow smoke up my @ss. This and for this reason ONLY have I chosen to work with ESS for ALL of the BMW and MB tuning for RPi projects. People are gonna say one thing or another because they want to show loyalty to a company. That is fine with me and infact, quite admirable. Its one thing to be loyal and its also another thing to be naive. Just remember that. Those who know me, know Im a straight shooter. Yes, I would arrest my friend if he was drinking and driving. Yes, I would do the same to my mother. One thing that is overlooked often is the power issue. A lot of people keep mentioning things like "they must be a good company. The car is FAST". SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT? Fast is not everything. Fast also has to be RELIABLE. Anyone that takes an entry level tuning class can somewhat tune a car to be fast. Its years of experience in tuning can do both while making a car last. People cry about this and that project taking a long time (ESS SC kits or even our exhaust projects). Yes, it takes time because there is a lot of work put into these things, even if some seem simple.

I tried to play this game nice but it really doesnt matter anymore. BTW, while Jeremy was here, I did not stop him from reading other cars that might have had other software here. So, this whole issue with the gpower and gintani doesnt surprise me in the least bit. So, I do expect a call soon as I always do when I post something......."Eloy, why are you talking sh*t?"
This isnt sh*t talk. This is just the truth from our side. Take it for what it is.

Please dont call because any threats geared to me does not matter to me.

lol, and then?

Also, my decision to only work with ESS is not biased. I met AJ from Rabdog who told me he wanted to try their tune. I told him that I have seen/heard of every tuner saying they can do this or that and ESS is no different. I told him "if they can really do it, have them come and let me dyno your car over and over and over again with hood down and NO cool down." Well, I got a call a week later letting me know that the two were flying to LA to tune the car and "prove" to me. :P I stood corrected. haha

CCW classes specifically teach you that you cant brandish or display your weapon, esp for an advantage over someone. :P CC is for personal or immediate party self defense only, meaning if the old lady down the street is getting mugged, your best option is to be a good witness.

Man I'd rather get sued then sit idly by while someone gets mugged.

All the times when we hung out, I thought I was protected having you along Eloy. Now I know if something happens to me, you'd be standing there taking pics and notes. LOL!!!
