e46 M3 CSL Oil-level indicator issues, and the old fashioned dipstick.

With one CSL showing oil-level's on the electronic gauge inconsistent with the instant-readout via the sportbutton I wanted to know which one of the two readings is correct. According to drawings on realoem.com there should be a small dipstick under the airbox, so I decided to take off the outer airbox and see if it is really there. Low and behold, it is....

The red handle is visible:





It really is small:



Result: although the digital readout said +1.0L, the instant readout via Sport button said -.- meaning minimum, the dipstick proved the instant readout is correct. The car needed exactly 1 liter of Castrol's finest to reach MAX again. Owners: when tracking the car use the instant readout, as the normal display is way too slow to provide a reliable readout.
