Dinan 5.8 litre "stroker"

'Visited dinan yesterday to pick up my completed S3. 'Will be doing a full report with pic's, etc. In the meantime, 'thought you E60/63 M5/6 folks might like to see Dinans' planned motor upgrade for your cars. It was in there engine shop. Steve Dinan said it'll have 620 crank hp; N/A!!. That's about the same as their S/C'd S3 E39 M5!! 'Didn't ask him cost or availability timing. He said they've already received deposits from over 50 customers for this motor. I asked him about durability issues for SMG with this motor. He said "No problem". Amazing.

And the fun begins!!

Yeah but for around $60000 cdn installed its seems like too much money for wot ur getting. my understanding was that when it was offered to me u have to give up ur own motor in that package price. each to his own i guess.

Yup, 3.91 + block-back exhaust + cams + spray would be way more than 600 for a lot less than a new engine.

accodring to Gustav's Dinan Interview

It's actually a bore and stroke job.

Stroke goes from 75mm to 83mm

Bore goes +1mm for 5.7L or +2 mm (that seems aggresive) for 5.8L. They are testing block strength on the +2mm overbore.
