Originally my car started to overheat...pulled over and turned her off to cool down. Turned the car back on and immediately get “engine malf: reduced power” Car was serviced at Indy replacing the failing radiator fan.
When I went to pickup the car, the reduced power was still there but overheating was fixed. Indy mechanic said he test drove it everything was fine the day before. He keeps the car and ends up replacing vacuum sensor and says everything is good, but yet again the reduced power immediately came on a second after turning her on when I went to pick her up.
Now I am being told the vacuum pump itself needs to be replaced, he said sometimes the pump will activate/turn on sometimes it will not. My third party warranty states vacuum pump is covered under Powertrain but they denied the request stating they don’t cover the “brake booster vacuum pump” but only the vacuum pump itself...is there even a difference between the two?
Was quoted $1180 + tax for the repair out of pocket is this a reasonable price?
