M6 carbon fiber roof repair or replacement?

My M6 has what turns out to have been a small chip/hole in the carbon fiber and it’s bubbled into a 2in square open wound. How many have gone the repair route vs full roof replacement?

Can you even repair something like this and still have it look nice and clean?

There are places who can take the lacquer off and repaint which is what I am doing to mine this week. Will take some pictures.
Had a stone chip and was at the dealers outside, water gets in and spreads.

I am taking it to an ex-F1 painter who has worked with carbon before and said its a straight forward job. I emailed a company who do all paint work for Prodrive (yes the rally experts) and they said they couldn't do it LOL
