how do I play music on phone?

my m5 is 2006 without aux port. I can connect BT but I think it's for phone only. It wouldn't play music on my phone.

is there a solution for me to play music on my phone on car speakers? thanks!

FM BT adapter would be the easiest solution. Nicest would be upgrade to CIC with combox. Intermediate would be add the aux port and run a cable to your phone, or install a BT adapter to the new aux port. Not much better than the FM adapter IMO.

E60's never had the ability to stream music via bluetooth from factory, just phone calls.

You can spend some money and retrofit a newer radio system like an android unit with bluetooth audio or retrofit CIC/NBT with combox and/or an aux jack.

You can just retrofit an aux jack. https://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e6...input-e60.html

Other than that there are bluetooth radio transmitters. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=bluetooth...l_9d6nioyac4_e

Or get the GROM BT and take out the factory BT and just replace it...works like a charm...

Nbt sure seems nice. But remind us which settings are not accessible anymore with nbt? Is it hvac, m button settings and something else?

cool thanks guys! FM bt adapter sounds easy enough. probably pull the trigger on NBT eventually. not too comfortable with coding.
