Congratulations for your new car! When it's time for rod bearings you might want to consider to get after market ones with bigger clearance. Also there is ton of info on this forum about the other maintenance item's which you might want to tackle same time with the bearings. Internal vanos oil line, oil pump tensioners, motor mounts etc.

There is a good rebuild service for throttle actuators in the UK, if your present ones decides to break. I have spare set of actuators which were refurbed by http://www.rebuild.org.uk you never know when you need them

Current mods: Short shifter, Custom clutch stop, Alpha-N + Power tuning by Evolve, AP coilovers, HEL brake lines.

Shes booked in tues/wed next week with a specialist for the big service, brakes and rear suspension arms. Also, I hope to discuss rod bearings and other such things I can do as a preventative measure, as well as updates and maybe some coding! I'll keep you all posted!

A wee update:

So dropped the beast off at my new Indy in Glasgow-

Rear brake pads new- discs are done! Why would the previous Indy not replace the discs?? New rear brakes ordered!!

Rear suspension arms fine for now.

Front bushes being changed to polymer ones.

Front brakes ok 👍

Discovered that the front right under tray in front of the wheel has had a hole cut in it- Indy suspects a pi$$ed off mechanic who was having trouble accessing the oil filter is the guilty party- whole new front undertray/wheel arch tray requires- ordered!

Doesn’t look like the transmission fluid has been changed- ever!! Full inspection II/major service being carried out!!

Rod bearings/shells- long discussion, another customer who’s car was running perfect with perfect history decided to do the preventative measure and replace- just in time, some very worn shells!! Saw the pictures- not pretty!! New parts ordered and to be fitted!

I’ll get the beast back next week, meanwhile I have a mini as a courtesy car 😭 it’s not the same, it really is not!!

I’ll update on progress and any other info as I get it 😃

Seems like the M got a very good new homeWhich bearing shells you ordered? I suggest that you replace the internal vanos pressure hose while the rod bearings are changed.

I’ll find out tomorrow which ones my Indy was talking about- forgotten the name.

Is the Vanos pressure hose something that needs replaced?

There's some cases that the internal vanos high pressure line is ruptured. It's not a big cost to change the line when the oil pan is off. Mine was changed also when my rod bearings (BE bearings) was changed last year. Also oil pump tensioners and piston oil squirters was changed.
