I just went through this exercise with my 6MT.
After 140,000 miles my clutch went out and went with a Bimmer World Clutch Masters FX350 clutch with their lightweight single mass steel flywheel. If you use a dual mass flywheel, it will be plug and play. The single mass requires a larger throw out bearing, which they are now supplying — thanks to me.
I’m about 250 miles into the 500 mile break-in period. So far...I’m loving it. The FX350 is a little more aggressive, coupled with the SM FW. It does chatter, but a little chatter is expected with this set up. An OEM DM FW wouldn’t chatter.
