Anything is possible, but it's stored in at least 3 modules and the power train stores mileage at fault so it's also in the shadow and active faults.

Not trivial, but definitely doable. IIRC it's stored in the cluster, LCM and DME and all of them need to match on the milage and vin.

KOMBI and CAS only. Read/modify/write with an R270. Set one to zero and the other will overwrite it. So if replacing CAS for example, set new CAS to 0km and install. KOMBI will overwrite mileage into the CAS.

I'm assuming OP is worried someone has done this to one that he purchased or is thinking of purchasing?

Are you sure on that one? Those two sync and cause the red tamper dot but I'm 99% sure the key fob also holds the mileage hence one of the reasons they scan it when you bring it for service. I'm also pretty sure the Light control module holds it as well, but that might just be on the e39 and E46, the more I collect the more I confuse myself

Edit:
Now I think about it I guess the FOB would get it from the CAS and the LCM was in the E39's .. Oh well

Red dot is for exchange in VINs not mileage.
