E60 M5 2008 transmission oil change

Hi all.

I have question about transmission oil change.

1. After/before change tranmission oil can we do any action on ISTA-D?
2. Is transmission/clutch adaptation necessary after performing a gear oil change? Or it's just a simple drain and fill operation? Thanks!

SMG right? You need inpa or ista to run the cooler pump to empty the cooler and lines. You also need to run again to make sure new oil fills the cooler and lines before checking oil level.

No clutch routine needed.

Hi Flacoramos
Thanks for reply.
yes SMG. Our official dealer said that if we do ista to run the cooler pump to empty it's may be harmful. because pump will work without oil,
How dou you think? Can i change oil ? without ista or just unload oil and full up ?

Tell your dealer to open up their thick books and read before they speak In case this is too demanding, they can also check the procedure over here https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...arbox/1L8Q8CjP

In real life, I turned the pump ON not more than 4-5sec and all the oil from the cooler just blast out of the drain in a second. It seems pump is pretty powerful.
Good luck and keep an eye on them!
