Extremely brief loss of power
Yesterday I put a couple hundred miles on my M5. On my way home, shortly after I fired up the car (engine still warm, trans in neutral), there was what felt like one brief misfire--the engine RPM dropped slightly for a split second and I could feel a slight shudder, but it recovered immediately.
Then, twice on the 120-mile drive home, cruising at around 3500RPM on the interstate, there was a split second loss in power. It felt like I took my foot off the throttle and then immediately reapplied it back to the same position. The two times it happened were not back-to-back--they were probably 30ish minutes apart. One time I was using the cruise control; the other time, I had my foot on the accelerator.
The rest of the drive was uneventful; engine power and drivability feel normal.
It's an '08 6-speed with 48K miles on it, and so far has been trouble-free. What does this sound like it might be? Throttle actuators?
