Getting very close here. Some setback, was hoping for an engine start last week, but still some bugs.

On the Elise/Howell/Syvecs, some very pointed questions to ask:

- Is the BSD bus implemented to retain AC compressor, IBS, oil sensor, and alternator control:
- Does the unit offer whatever OBD comms are needed for US state inspections, UK MOT, etc. If not, are you putting an SMG back in to pass?
- Calibration of DCT, adaptations, teach in etc...how are they done?
- Odometer functioning?
- Is EWS implemented / talking to CAS or can anyone with a pair of jumper cables to the starter solenoid drive it away?

These are all the things that have killed much of my interest in the Motec on the M5/M6 as the market is extremely limited because fewer of those are likely to become all-out race cars compared to E9x.

While DCT swap for a SMG owner sounds good. What we really need is a manual 6/7 speed swap for the F90 lol.

BMW has killed DCT, yes its a shame, but not because it is so great, but because now you only have 1 option Sport Auto. SMG, DCT, & soon Manual trannies killed by the Ultimate Driving Machine. Manual now gone from 1,2,3,4,6,7, all X's, M3, M4, M5, M6. So as of 2019/20 models the only options for manual are M2 & 5 series I think, DCT only in M2. Sport Auto across the board in 2020/21..... what a sin.

I never liked SMG, I thought I wouldnt mind DCT until I got a car with it, now I hate it also.

For a DCT swap can you use any DCT fitted in a BMW, or it has to come from a M. I thought the only difference between the DCT in my 135 and the M3 was software, but the physical components were the same.

Having never driven a DCT BMW myself, I'm just curious what it is you don't like about the DCT? I'm guessing that you'd take the DCT over SMG though?
