My experience with Performance Technic, Fremont Ca
So after getting the dreaded smg message for some time I knew I needed to get the car in the shop for some work...Talking to board members Dan Lee and Randy Wei, I gave Performance Technic a try because of their excellent reputation...Reading tons of threads on my smg problem, I thought I had diagnosed the correct issue by buying a new hydraulic motor for the install...I contacted Brandon at Performance Technic and made an appt for the install...two weeks later my car was in the shop with the new part installed within 48hours...So this is where the fun began....Brandon called me up and told me my smg pump was not building pressure...he gave me a quick quote of $7200 for a new unit which was out of my budget. I told him I couldn’t afford that and needed to find another option...I was glad I was already discussing the smg issues with Jim Colley from Fast Attack Motorsports and learned that he also rebuilds the whole smg units to new...Brandon got his team to tear down my car again and get the smg unit ready for shipping...Once the smg pump was ready, I ran out to the shop and Brandon had the unit ready in a box for me to ship out...the pump was fully rebuilt and sent back to the shop within 2 weeks..Brandon let me know once the smg setup arrived and that they would get it installed as soon as they could...Overall I was extremely pleased with dealing with Performance Technic and their help through some unforeseen issues with my entire smg unit..To further add, I feel their prices were fair and competitive for the level of performance bmws they work on...
