Out of curiosity, I performed the actuator test using INPA several times this evening and each time it passed with no variation from test to test. Hopefully this means that just fixing the gears and not letting the time pass too long between the first faults and the repair have kept the circuit boards from being too over worked...I guess only time will tell

2007 e63 M6 - All black
2008 e64 650i - All black
1998 e38 740il - All black

Seems I like black cars !

Usually the tests will not immediately throw an actuator code. You might have caught it early. But it doesn't rule out the possibility of the circuit board being damaged and potentially throwing a code after a few thousand miles if driving. That's what it typically does.

But yes. Some do get lucky.

Just shipped put another set today. I have seven more rebuilt sets. Who wants to buy actuators for half the price of new OEM ones?

I'm gonna pick up a pair as soon as my rod bearings get done within the next two weeks (they're on order from BE)

Hi Curtis. I'm sorry. I flew to Houston for the weekend. I'm sure you already received the tracking number. It was shipped on Saturday. We were not working on good Friday. Please confirm you got the tracking number. Thanks.

Thanks for hijacking my thread! So far waitingondapig is the only person to answer my question. Frustrating that Abdul canít listen to what Iím asking. I have brand new 30k ago bmw installed actuators and want them to last longer and would think upgrading the gears would do that, and donít need to spend 700 after 2,800 already has been spent on actuators. All I want to know is who offers the best replacement gears. Please read before posting

I am not an expert on throttle actuators, but from my research in this forum the best replacement gears are supplied by Odometer Gears. With a throttle actuator that has only 30k miles you should be okay to replace just the gears as it probably has never thrown a code for failure. I threw in a link for the gears from a reputable site and a how-to video as well. I hope this has answered your question.
