Flat tow E60 M5 SMG?

Is it safe to tow and e60 m5 with smg gearbox with all 4 wheels on the ground and the car in Neutral with the engine running?

As long as it is in Neutral your fine. Its when its in gear

Yeah its in Neutral. Was stuck in 1st but restarting it got it into N. Rolls freely. Just want it running for lights etc when towing

Quite far. About 25 - 30 miles. I've towed manual cars this far before though. It's to take it to a garage that I know.

I would check the manual, usually it says in the manual for any car whether it can be flat towed.

I might try this for a very short tow, but not for the distance you are talking.
My humble suggestion... put it on a flatbed.

Must be in N and car must be on a flat bed or trans and engine will mess up
