No I just swapped them like you said earlier. Unless they are all shot? No, I didn't have to move the plenums fortunately. I will switch the coils as soon as the car cools down a bit.

Your fault code indicated that they are all shot. If it was faults on just one bank - then swapping 2 from one bank with the 2 on the other bank would be the way to go. I thought that you were getting 4 new ones...

Yea I misunderstood, I'll go to bmw today and grab 4 new ones. Should I still switch the coil packs or just wait.

Try switching the coil packs - it will give more information. Also after the switch, clear the fault codes and get a fresh batch and post them. I've done a bunch of stuff on my M5, but I've been lucky with some stuff and I'm just going by the process we use to figure out a misfire on the E39s. The CPS replace is because of the "All 4 failed" in your error codes - but it could just as easily mean that there is something else wrong that is causing the CPS "all 4" fault.

Are they supposed to be that oily - @rt7085

I was wondering the same thing. If it's supposed to be that oily. I will swap out the coils first just to see if the fault codes move. I clear the codes everytime. Just so I can get the fresh batch of codes that pop up. Fingers crossed

Car shaking really rough

It is supposed to be that oily as it protrudes into the heads where oil runs freely. No big deal. Hence the gasket ring.

The fact that they ALL failed is suspect. That does not happen. Harness issue? Power issue? Anyway, get your new ones and see what happens. Cheap enough compared to some other items on the car.

Besides if the cam sensors all failed the engine could not run properly. It might be a shitty fault scanner translation issue too. It would affect all banks not just bank 1, eg cyl 1 and 4.
