No Hope for you drop the oil pan and replace the bearing
you'll need this

BMW E60 M5 Rod Bearings DIY

and this

BMW S85 - Lang Racing Development

since we are on this topic has anyone used the WPC bearings yet I'm going to use my M5 as a track day car this year and at the end of the season I plan on replacing the rod bearings with these mentioned above.. anyone running them?

I had same thing. A botched vanos line replacement from Bimmer Motor Werks (Dec 2013) destroyed my engine. Did they same thing, low oil pressure spun the bearings and put all the metal shavings in the vanos banks and throughout engine. BMW recommended replacement. You might be able to get BMW to keep filtering the oil but it only last's 100-miles or so before the Vanos system (solenoids) gets jammed as tight clearances. I called Troy. Will cost you about $8-10K for motor, $2K core charge comes back to you. Look to around $4-$6K for install. He sent me a great motor with new bearings, vanos lines etc. Been running smooth as silk. Good luck.

Yep. Put them in at 68K, pulled them 14k later. Religious about warm-up and a taking care of it. When I pulled them they looked like a set of 30-40k bearings. I don't attribute it to the WPC treatment as much as the 702/703 bearings they start with. @B767capt had almost identical experience with much lower mileage. He posted pics here somewhere.

I will eventually get the engine from Troy but hoping to run it this summer with a bearing change and thorough flushing

From the video, the ticking sounds very very frequent and hollow, sounds high up. Again, hard to diagnose from a video, but almost sounds to me like a valve spring has "shuffled itself off the mortal coil", pun very intended. Interested to see the outcome... but my gut is telling me to start with the head.

I'm not expert, but this was my first thought too when I saw the vid, wasnt going to chime in as the first, but I agree the sound seemed like it was on the top end vs bottom.
